WANTED: Young Arts Graduates & Volunteers! Cl date 18 June

WANTED: Young Arts Graduates & Volunteers!

Brief;
YAYA-meaning ‘Young Adults & Young Artists’-is a Nottinghamshire based organisation led by young people aged 16-25 with a passion for developing new opportunities for young people. Our most recent plan is a response to today’s bleak jobs market, reduced support for young people’s volunteering and no mechanism for young artists to get ‘a foot on the ladder’ in a highly competitive creative sector.
Our ambition is to create a ‘volunteer database’, through which Nottinghamshire’s aspiring young arts professionals will be signposted to a range of meaningful & diverse opportunities in the arts. We have recently received a small amount of funding from Nottinghamshire County Council to pilot this idea, and now require a facilitator to work directly with young people to develop & implement a ‘youth arts volunteer recruitment plan’.
We are now recruiting a number of arts graduates who are interested in learning how to deliver workshops skills with young people.
You will be mentored & supported in delivering arts workshops with children & young people (7-19) at the following 2012 events;

► Eastwood’s ‘Vibe’ Youth Festival, 14th July
► West Bridgford’s ‘Bridgfest’ Youth Festival, 12th August

► Reimbursed travel costs
► Payment of £30 per workshop for a limited number of applicants
