Funded Internships: making a difference to your bottom line

·         or undertake a strategic project

but lack the funds and staff time to do so?

Would you like:

·         to hire a temporary member of staff to work on new initiatives and projects?

·         funding to help with cost?

·         help to identify the right person for you?

Hiring staff is a costly procedure. Getting it wrong is even more costly. But we can help.

The University of Derby has funding available and support of a practical nature on hand to help you to identify, recruit and afford a motivated and highly capable graduate or student through our internship programme:

·         £700 contribution to costs

·         Recruitment and consultation service

·         Low risk, low cost

Employers should:

·         Employ interns for six weeks to six months

·         Pay a salary at minimum wage or above

In the fall of 2014, our Urban Outfitters customer is moving into their first apartment, a 400 square foot one bedroom in the city. Design something amazing and cost effective for their adventure in small space urban living. We want to see your interpretation and expression of emerging design trends for our UO customer.

Creative Industries Roadshow in Chesterfield

Creative Derbyshire is working in partnership with the Chatsworth Road Festival in Chesterfield to bring you the latest Creative Industries Roadshow which has been touring the County over the past few months.

The event is FREE and aimed at artists and creative businesses.  It doesn’t matter if you a new, emerging or established creative business, the event is intended to provide you with information to help your business develop and grow and signpost you to other areas of support.

There will be a chance to network as well as bite-sized sessions offering tips for getting national media coverage.  Drinks and a buffet will be provided.

The event takes place on Tuesday 8^th October at 4.30pm – 6.30pm at St Thomas’ Centre, Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield.  Click here to book your free place.

New Business Support Website launched

A new business support portal, “The Business Advice Website” has been launched to help businesses access arrange of support on key issues.  The site has been funded by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership and the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce. 

The site is designed to help identify local business support information to aid developing a business or starting a new business in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire as well as providing links to key national sources of information and support across the country.

8 to 12 hours per week until Sunday 22nd December 2013

Candidate required to work on a rota basis (Wednesday through to Sunday) with occasional evenings.

Your role will include supporting the photographers and production manager in the processing and creating of customers orders including the precision cutting and cropping of prints and imagery; creating pre-edit selections from studio shoots; maintenance of studio sets and backdrops; contacting customers to inform them when their order is ready for collection; responsible for the assemble and overall presentation of exhibition stands and helping with the general cleaning and maintenance of the studio.
