As a Technical Administrative Apprentice you will be providing support to the Technologist and will be responsible for assisting them in all aspects of Garment Technology.

■Assisting the Technical team with quality issues. Providing support to the Technologist

Voluntary filming opportunity - Derby Museum/Enjoying Derby project

Enjoying Derby is working with Derby Museum to look at the history of new communities in Derby. This project, called Common Threads, will also explore current new communities. We are looking for someone who can film a meeting where people from eight new communities in Derby talk about their journey to England. We are planning this event for the first week in November.


This project will also have a textiles element, we will look at cultural influences on textiles then create some new work to be displayed in an exhibition next year.

Welcome new followers!

Welcome! new followers and especially any first year students here at Derby University coming to have a peek at my blog.
This and my Twitter feed are where I post creative opportunities that I come across that may be of interest to students, graduates and other creative people.
Take a look at past posts and you will see a mixture of vacancies, competitions, events, voluntary work, exhibitions and current affairs information.
The oppportunities cover a wide range of creative disciplines and I try and meet all needs if at all possible.

Look at my Twitter feed too: www.twitter.com/derbycreatives I tweet and retweet lots of opportunities on there on a regular basis and you will see that I have in excess of 1000 followers and I am following 300 people and places. Add that all up and it is a lot of information and plenty of opportunties and people to ask advice of.
 I am not at work every day so there may be the odd gap in time, but I do try and blog/tweet every other day at least.

You will work closely with copywriters and designers, product experts and business managers to produce digital media material for use across a broad spectrum of media channels.

Your main responsibilities will be to produce internal video-based marketing to advertise our products and services – from filming and editing through to final output (primarily for the web). Examplesof projects you could be working on include:

• Product reviews and demonstrations

• Case studies

• Tutorials

• Video shorts to promote the company

• Filming and collating footage • from events and seminars

• Our annual Halloween video

The ideal candidate will have great commercial understanding and a creative eye for design.

Desirable Skills:
- Camera, sound and general location shooting skills

Events

Research and marketing for Baby People’s ‘Soul Food tour’ starting in Nov.

Liaising with local artists on the line up and building links into their social networks.

Liaison with venues, after initial training from Baby People management.

Physical distribution of posters and flyers across Derby, and Derbyshire relevant to specific events.

Approx 15 events per year



Promotion and Admin

On line marketing and promotion of events, and workshops.

Promotion and marketing for artists and business’s on Baby People’s ‘New Roots’ project.

Collecting and collating evidence and data, from all BP events.

General office and admin duties.

Duties will include 2 short half days per week in office and event based work.

Applicants will benefit from demonstrating a knowledge of Microsoft office, Photoshop and basic web and social media design.



Fee = £2400 pa = £200 per month.

Post will be employed on a freelance basis.

The position is open for two years (to be reviewed annually) with possibilities of ongoing further annual contracts.

Paid freelance Theatre practitioners Derby Theatre

Derby Theatre is looking for experienced and inspirational practitioners to run its new youth theatre for 11 – 18 yr olds.


You will be required to lead several recruitment sessions across the city during the Autumn, conduct auditions and run weekly rehearsals leading up to the main production in April 2013 and devise and deliver an exciting and inclusive workshop program for the summer term.

We are particularly interested in applications from pre-existing theatre companies or partnerships, however we will also consider individuals who wish to apply as either directors or assistants.



Terms and Conditions

This is a freelance position and the rate of pay is £50 p.h. for the weekly sessions, split across two or more practitioners. Weekly rehearsals will be c. 2 hrs in duration.
