Winchester School of Art paid PhD studentships

Winchester School of Art fixed term 3 year full time studentship posts

One of the country's leading art and design schools, Winchester School of Art is part of the University of Southampton, a Russell Group university and one of the UK's top ten research universities.

Winchester School of Art and Tate Liverpool have been awarded a major AHRC grant to research “Creative Communities in Art & Design since the 1960s: Lessons for SocioEconomic Regeneration in a Globalized World”. As part of a seven-year developmental project, we are looking to appoint the first of four consecutive PhD studentships to investigate arts, culture and society in the 1960s, with particular focus on the relations between the visual arts, youth cultures and consumerisms in British society. Tate Liverpool and Winchester School of Art are committed to developing long-term joint research programmes that have real world impacts on society, education and the arts. These research posts will work between Tate Liverpool and Winchester School of Art research centres. The PhD award is for three years with full-time fees and an annual bursary paid by the AHRC.
