Dream Candidate Competition

Students from University are asked to create a creative version of their CV and send it in for the chance to be promoted to 20,000 charity recruiters.

This is a unique opportunity for students to stand out from the crowd and find their dream job.

CV formats can be anything except ordinary: Infographic CVs, Video CVs, Sound clips, anything which can show case their skills best.

How Students Would Enter The Competition…

1. Students Register for free on the Dream Candidate website with their full name and email address.

2. Once their CVs are finished, students are invited to upload their video-cv/poster-cv to the Talent Academy website and ask their friends to like and share.

3. The winner is the candidate with the most ‘likes’ who will be showcased as the Dream Candidate to our charity customers and recruitment agencies in order to place the winner in their dream role.

The Facebook page is publicly displayed meaning the creative CVs could catch the eye of potential employers! So even if the student does not win, they’re still in with the chance of a job.

Important Dates

· The competition starts on March 3, 2014

· The deadline to enter the competition is May 3, 2014

· The results will be announced on May 28, 2014

Design Studio Apprentice

Graphic Workman is the design practice of David Ottley. 
Graphic Workman works with creative and entrepreneurial clients who require branding, typography, information design or visual identity services, who are now searching for a studio apprentice. 

This role would provide a junior or recent design graduate a very hands on and practical introduction to the day-to-day running of a small design practice. 

The role would suit a pro-active, organised and resourceful individual who can offer design and administrative support.

What would it involve?
– Providing design support on live briefs
– Helping to prepare presentations for clients
– Simple administrative tasks such as the logging of time sheets.
Skills required
– A portfolio of great design projects
– An keen eye for detail
– Good skills in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Basic understanding of Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Web skills are a plus, although not essential
– Great spoken and written skills
– Flexibility and a can-do attitude.

The job will be offered to the successful applicant on a part time basis and at minimum wage for an initial trail period of 4 weeks. You will need to have your own transport and a laptop.

Graphic Design Internship Opportunity, closing date 7th Feb 2014

An excellent opportunity for a short term project for a creative and innovative student. Soutron are looking for somebody to create a visual representation of the abilities of the CEBIS software.
 
Responsibilities within the role will include the design of an ‘Info-Graphic’, to produce 3 different designs that show in a graphical form what the CEBIS system is and does.
