through 49 schools and all 17 neighbourhood wards in Derby.
The
Community Torch Relay is also hosting free family activities in community

part in cultural and sporting activities. Activities will take place
at:

Sat 16
June Arboretum
Sun 17
June Sinfin

Free
Torch Making workshops are being offered at all of the above events. We are now
inviting artists and practitioners to submit proposals to deliver other creative
workshops as part of these weekend events. Workshops should have clear links to
the Olympics and/or The Olympic Values, which are:
·
respect – fair play; knowing one’s own limits; and
taking care of one’s health and the environment
·
excellence – how to give the best of oneself, on the
field of play or in life; taking part; and progressing according to one’s own
objectives
·
friendship – how, through sport, to understand each
other despite any differences
If you
or your organisation are interested in delivering workshops as part of the
Community Torch Relay, please email us:

voluntary work)

that, although we do not have a fixed budget for all workshops, we are aiming to
be as efficient as possible and therefore will be taking into account proposed
budgets when making our decision
