Nottingham Light Night 2012 - Artist Commissions (deadline 23-9-11)



Nottingham City Council needs your bright ideas! We are looking for engaging artworks in any form. The Nottingham Light Night event, now in its 5th year, is a special night of performances, parades, installations, projections, tours, talks and special offers that transform the city centre into a great night out for young and old.



Commission Fees

X1 Commission of £2,000

X1 commissions of £1,000

X1 commissions of £500

X2 commissions of £250

All art forms welcome

Proposals invited from all artists



Event date: Friday in February 2012 6pm – late (one evening) – date TBC



Art work will need to be installed by the artist in time for the event and taken away by the artist immediately following the event.



Commission fee to include all costs, including making costs, installation costs, materials /and light source as appropriate.

Artists to find venues for their proposals - this might be a shop window, Castle grounds, inside a church, outside on the street – TBC depending on the artwork.



Artists to liaise with venues directly, and take responsibility to arrange all installation and operational details.



Artists will need to have their own Public Liability Insurance (£5 million)
