FREE design web,mag & recruitment agency

As you may know Arts Thread has built very strong relationships with New Designers, Graduate Fashion Week, V&A, BBC, Texprint, Crafts Council, PSFK over the last 12 months, this has enabled us to recently receive significant investment. With this significant step we have decided to let all courses/programmes & their graduating students go on Arts Thread for FREE.

Arts Thread is a website, magazine and recruitment consultancy which helps design graduates gain employment within the global creative industry. In little over 12 months 18% of the graduates who have joined Arts Thread have gained employment globally (companies such as Nike, Nokia, Gucci, Interbrand, Max Mara, Abercrombie & Fitch, VF Corporation, WGSN, Philips etc. have all hired through our website & recruitment arm).

Arts Thread’s portfolio section gives a visually inspiring and interactive experience that truly promotes you:

• Customise your images to your preferred size.
• Add up to 5 videos that resize to fit.
• Add up to 5 PDF files.
• Add CV information to emphasise what makes your work unique and special.
• Add text alongside each of the 4 project pages.
• Add as many links as you like to your own website, facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, pages etc.

Graduate Endorsements
“I found out about Arts Thread from my university. I was informed that the website would allow you to create an online portfolio that would make it easy for industry professionals to find you based on your skills and specialisms.

Creating my portfolio on Arts Thread was easy and simple. It showed off my work and gave key details about me as a designer so that potential employers could see who I was at a glance.

I was contacted by Arts Thread after I had graduated and was put in touch with a major international company that wanted to interview me. I received a tremendous amount of support from Arts Thread throughout the interview process and was offered the job. If I hadn’t put my portfolio up on Arts Thread I wouldn’t have been able to accept this exciting opportunity, and I would recommend this site to all potential graduates looking to join the industry”.
Rose Whittaker, Manchester Metropolitan University Design Graduate 2010

“I was first told about Arts Thread at University in the build up to Graduate Fashion Week, as that was when it was to be launched. I was not sure exactly how it worked but I was told it was a new website to help graduates and the industry, as basically an online portfolio. I knew there were fashion agencies that book graduates and it seemed to be a similar concept but it was open to everyone and as it is online a greater chance of being seen. Even though I had my own blog online, which is hard to get out to the right people, it seemed like a great chance for some exposure so I put my work on the site before GFW.

“At GFW Week Arts Thread had a stand where you could meet the team who would answer any questions and show how the site worked. After meeting the various directors and learning exactly what it was about, I knew this was an opportunity that I am glad I didn't miss. It is geared towards helping graduates get their work out but also a great directory for industry people to find the person or people they are looking for, which actually lead me to getting a job just 6 weeks after graduating.

“The site was easy to use and allows graduates to put up a variety of work to show off exactly what you want to be seen and employers can find you by looking through portfolios from specific categories or just from a recommendation like in my case. It has created a missing link between graduates and industry that will create more opportunities for a lot more people.”
Maxwell Holmes, Northumbria University Design Graduate 2009
