There’s a six month researcher/junior AP contract and a mixture of on the job training (at Nine Lives working on Dispatches) and bespoke training organised by Channel 4 currently on offer.
Nine Lives will provide a home for a successful applicant to Group 1 of the scheme. This aims to give an entry point/career booster into current affairs for people who show good journalistic potential. It’s not meant to be a graduate/post graduate entry scheme, so candidates should have some journalistic experience but they don’t need to have worked in telly before – any form of original journalism or scoop spotting could get them up and running.
