Nottingham Writers’ Studio is launching a bursaries scheme for 2011, which will provide a package of benefits for the successful applicants, including: one year’s free membership of NWS, a mentoring scheme, a free place on a Nottingham Writers’ Day, and a chance to take part in an NWS reading.
There are six bursaries available, worth a total of £265 each. They comprise:
* NWS membership for one year (normally £50).
* A mentoring scheme, with two one-to-one sessions with a writer chosen to suit your needs, and one group mentoring session. The one-to-ones could be based around developing your writing, or help with broader issues such as getting your work published or produced.
* A place on a Nottingham Writers’ Day of your choice (normally £75+ for non-members).
* A chance to take part in an NWS live literature event, such as Word of Mouth or a festival reading.
