Workshop Assistants
Bankwood Care Centre is a 40
bed care home based in Belper, Derbyshire. It aims to provide self-empowerment,
dignity and self-expression through creative arts.
They are recruiting for
volunteer Workshop Assistants who will help the workshop leader to deliver
workshops to residents. Volunteers will communicate with residents, working in
small and large groups, and help to improve the quality of life for residents.
Bankwood Care Centre is
looking for students who are friendly and have a positive attitude, with
creative skills in music, art, drama and movement and an understanding of a
person-centred approach.
Volunteers will gain:

People
skills
·
Knowledge
of how to facilitate the creative arts in a working environment
·
Communications
skills for working with the elderly
·
Experience
of working with people who have different needs in a group setting
·
Experience
of working one-to-one
·
Knowledge
of how to risk assess workshops and how to plan for people at risk
Volunteers will require a DBS
check. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
